Job Summary

Graham Packaging Canada Limited is looking for a Fork Lift Operator based in Mississauga, ON.

Lift Truck Operators are responsible for loading/unloading trailers and supplying production with skids, boxes, and/or partitions, together with removing and storing finished goods.

Job Responsibilities

Job Functions/Tasks:
• Load, unload and move products and materials using forklift, and where necessary by pump truck equipment.
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
• Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
• Accurately complete and maintain shipping/receiving records.
• Ensure production has an adequate supply of skids, boxes, and/or partitions.
• Tape, stack, tie and tag finished product to skids.
• Store full skids in warehouse and maintains accurate inventory paperwork.
• Prepare labels, seals or tags for production run as required.
• Keep shipping/receiving and warehouse areas clean and free of safety hazards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor to ensure continuous production runs.

Job Qualifications

Job Requirements:
• Completion of high school as a minimum with a preference to a college diploma in a discipline related to facility operation and maintenance, OR an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Completion of courses in hydraulics, pneumatics or electronics systems are beneficial.
• Possesses superior problem solving and quality management skills.
• Have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently within a defined/documented schedule.
• Has strong interpersonal skills and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
• Maintains a current forklift operator’s certificate and a valid driver’s license.
• Has a clear understanding of potential health and safety hazards within a manufacturing facility and is knowledgeable of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.
